The Art of American Ching Sai Do

Mountain View Karate Centers instruct students in the art of American Ching Sai Do. This style of martial arts was founded by Sensei Doug Armstrong in 1995 and combines elements of Tae Kwon Do, Shinjimasu Go-Ju,  and Small Circle Jiu-Jitsu.

Doug Armstrong

Owner and Operator

Master Doug Armstrong is from Oregon, Illinois. He began his martial arts journey in 1981 in Ji Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do. Master Armstrong joined the Navy after 18 months of TKD training and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. While in Hawaii, He began to train under 9th Dan Hanshi Dean Bottomley where he would earn his 1st Dan in Shaolin

Go-Ju in 1990. Since then, Master Armstrong has trained with many high ranking martial artists including Grandmaster "Professor" Wally Jay - founder of Small Circle Ju-Jitsu. In 2004, Master Armstrong was inducted into the American Freestyle Karate Association Hall of Fame. He was also awarded the Who's Who Legends Award in 2016.

 

 

Master Armstrong was inducted into the Legends of Carolina Martial Arts on July 23rd of 2022.
